Brief Bio: 
Rosario Cammarota (herein after "Dr. Ro"), received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Computer Science from the University of California Irvine in 2013; the degree of Master of Science in Computer Science, with a focus in Embedded Systems, from the University of California Irvine in 2009; and the degree of Master of Science in Telecommunication Engineering from the Universita' degli Studi di Napoli "Federico II", Naples, Italy in 2004. 

Dr. Ro is affiliated with Qualcomm Research, San Diego, CA, since 2013, in the roles of computer architect and security architect: He drives and contribute efforts in computer security, ranging from secure micro-electronics to secure hardware architectures, and secure communication protocols. He holds leadership positions in standardization organizations and semiconductor associations.
From 2004 to 2009 he was appointed as interim researcher by the Advanced Information Systems group of the Italian National Labs in Naples. 

Dr. Ro is committed and effective at driving and facilitating university research, mentoring of graduate students, and dissemination of knowledge and research results to industry. He is on the program committee of conferences of international prestige in high-performance computing and applied cryptography. He is on the editorial board and an active reviewer for the International Journal of Parallel Programming.
He teaches both undergraduate and (mostly) graduate classes in parallel and distributed computing, parallelizing and optimizing compilers at UC Irvine. 

Dr. Ro is a prolific inventor. He is one of the recipients of the Semiconductor Research Corporation 2017 Mahboob Khan Outstanding Industry Liaison/Associate Awards.
